Schaumburg Parents Choose Whether Students View President’s Education Speech

Later this morning, some students throughout the country will be focusing their attention on TV as President Barack Obama speaks to school children about taking responsibility for their education. Kids in McHenry County in Illinois, however, will not be among them. They are among the school districts deciding not to broadcast the speech because officials say it doesn’t apply to local curriculum. In Schaumburg, district officials are letting parents make the choice. Superintendent of Schaumburg school district 54 Ed Rafferty explains more about the district’s decision.
