Scott Lucas is well known locally for his music – like the band Local H, but he also knows a thing or two about how to get a girl. Sure there are the standard efforts like flowers, letters or groveling but Lucas wrote his ex a song a day for a whole week. What began as a series of heartfelt songs eventually evolved into his latest project, Scott Lucas and the Married Men.

Lucas and two of his bandmates recently joined “Eight Forty-Eight” to talk about the project and to share whether or not he wound up winning the girl back.

But before love, the band shared music. The trio began with a cover of David Bowie’s song “Absolute Beginners” from their new release by the same name.

Scott Lucas and the Married Men will play Saturday night at The Hideout Holiday Music Hour; their opening act is Thursday’s guest, teen rock group Purple Apple.
