Sharon Gless, the tough-talking detective who took top billing in Cagney and Lacey
, is a bit of a gay icon. And that's despite the fact she's never actually played a gay character, until now. Gless has starred in other TV hits like Queer as Folk
, and Burn Notice
. Now, she takes the title character in the new film Hannah Free.
The story was filmed in Chicago and Beecher, Illinois, and follows the life-long love affair of two women. Alison Cuddy talked with Gless about the film and her adventurous television roles. Screenings:Hannah Free
