Sharon Gless Takes on First Gay Role in

Sharon Gless, the tough-talking detective who took top billing in Cagney and Lacey, is a bit of a gay icon. And that's despite the fact she's never actually played a gay character, until now. Gless has starred in other TV hits like Queer as Folk, and Burn Notice. Now, she takes the title character in the new film Hannah Free. The story was filmed in Chicago and Beecher, Illinois, and follows the life-long love affair of two women. Alison Cuddy talked with Gless about the film and her adventurous television roles.
