Status of Illinois Reform Commission

Last month, the Illinois Reform Commission issued an 88-page how to on cleaning up politics in the state. Their recommendations address a number of issues, from how the state awards contracts and hires people, to the power of local law enforcement, to the way campaigns are financed. The Commission was formed in January, after the arrest of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Cynthia Canary from the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, and House Republican Leader Tom Cross explain how ethics reform is faring in Springfield.
