This year, the famed Second City is celebrating 50 years of making people laugh. Many alumni of the improvisation school have become superstars – names like Tina Fey, the Belushi brothers and Bill Murray to name a few. But there’s one Second City veteran who is still waiting to get his name on the poster of a blockbuster movie. Until then, Jimmy Carrane’s star will just have to flicker in the dust down in Studio 312. His guest is Mike Thomas, Chicago Sun-Times writer and author of the new book The Second City Unscripted.
