Since 2003, the local imprint Numero Group has been resurrecting long forgotten or obscure artists. The label is especially passionate about soul music from the 60s and 70s. They’ve wrapped all that love up in a series of releases called Eccentric Soul.

The bow on the package?  Some of the artists who made that music are returning to the stage to celebrate.

For one night, The Notations, Renaldo Domino and Syl Johnson will join other performers.  It’s all part of the Eccentric Soul Revue, taking place this Saturday at the Park West in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Syl Johnson recently joined my co-host Richard Steele to talk about his career and this reunion.

This one-time R&B sensation actually got his start with some of the greats of the blues world, including likes of Jimmy Reed, Junior Wells and Howlin’ Wolf.
