And he makes the case that it was that nefarious deed, not goats or black cats that explains why the North-Siders haven’t won it all since 1908. Last November, Eight Forty-Eight’s Jason Marck talked with Deveney, who says the teams’ track records up to that point made their championship performances fishy.
