The Implications of Bond Court Changes
Some students who drop out of school wind up contending with another institution, the court system. Here in Chicago, their first stop after an arrest is the Cook County Central Bond Court.
Many people argue the court is unfair because judges consistently set high bonds for people's release. But starting today, changes are afoot at the Central Bond Court. Eight Forty-Eight's Alison Cuddy spoke with Chicago Public Radio's criminal justice reporter, Robert Wildeboer. He says the Cook County criminal justice system is essentially a bottleneck right now.
