The Rise of the Irish in Chicago

Like other ethnic groups, when the Irish arrived in Chicago they were told where they could live and the jobs they could hold. Their collective story is painted in broad historical strokes and intimate personal portraits in the new documentary Irish Chicago. Producer/Director Daniel Andries explains how the Irish were able to climb up the political ladder. Irish Chicago premieres tonight at 7:30 on WTTW in Chicago.
