For some, being a mom isn’t always so easy. Women who suffer from postpartum depression find themselves feeling disconnected from their babies after childbirth. Around 10 to 15 percent of new mothers suffer from some form of postpartum depression within a year of childbirth. Natalie Dombrowski kept a record of her struggle in a journal that became the book Back to You: A Recollection of One Woman’s Postpartum Survival Back to Herself, Her Baby, and Her Husband. Dombrowski spoke with WBEZ’s Ashley Gross about her experience with depression.
