In 2007, Northwestern Michigan College professor Dr. Mark Holley led a team of underwater archeologists mapping the Grand Traverse Bay Underwater Preserve.

He’s still working on figuring out just what they may have discovered there, along with other treasures like a pioneer’s pier and several shipwrecks. Eight Forty-Eight‘s Alison Cuddy recently called to see how it was going. But first, she asked Dr. Holley to tell us a little more about his discovery.
