Residents in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood on the North Side gathered last night at Truman College. They were there to protest the lack of response to a recent string of violent incidents in the area. Reports of street violence have been circulating on the Uptown Update, a website run by members of the community. One post features a video shot from the 4th floor terrace of a building overlooking the corner of Leland Avenue and Sheridan Road. That’s where a fight between two groups of men broke out last week. The Chicago Police Department’s Roderick Drew told us that after viewing the video the CPD thinks the altercation was gang related. They also said they made an arrest that night.

Uptown resident Joe Gray filmed the scene, and tells us more what’s happening in the area.
