What Does 100 Years in Prison Mean to a Teenager?

Blair Holt's killer, Michael Pace, was just 16 years old when he shot and killed Blair Holt on a CTA bus just over 2 years ago. He was charged as an adult in Holt's murder and appeared to show no remorse at his sentencing hearing earlier this week. His youth, his guilty plea, and his IQ of 77 appear not to have been factors in the judge's decision to sentence him to 100 years in prison. Paula Wolff of Chicago Metropolis 2020 explains what this kind of sentence means for a juvenile.
