Over the past few years, the Chicago Tribune has been the subject of news for the tenure of Sam Zell and the twists and turns of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Now come allegations that the company has developed a vulgar, sexist, frat house atmosphere. The Trib made headlines when the New York Times recently labeled its culture and not its coffers bankrupt. Then last week Chief Innovation Officer Lee Abrams resigned after sending staff-wide emails some found inappropriate. And CEO Randy Michaels is expected to be out the door this week. So how is all of this affecting their bottom line and the atmosphere in the newsroom? To learn more about what’s happening over at the Tower, we turn now to two former Tribbers.
