When Mom Lost Her Job

As a high-school student, Porsha Thomas watched her mom lose her job . Earlier this year, she shared this memory as part of an audio gift she made for her mother, through the Curie Youth Radio program.

Porsha Thomas is now a freshman at Northern Illinois University, where she's studying film directing. She tells us that her mom is a supervisor at Evanston Northwestern Hospital, and doing well. Porsha's story came to us from Curie Youth Radio, as part of our occasional series, Southwest Side Stories.

Originally aired April 22, 2008
