White Mystery brings its rock, roll, ‘Blood & Venom’ to Eight Forty-Eight

Francis Scott Key White and Alex White are the brother-sister duo that is White Mystery. They’re out with a new album on Wednesday, April 20: Blood and Venom. It’s been over a year since their self-titled freshman effort. Meanwhile the critics have been on their side for even longer.

They recently dropped by WBEZ’s Jim and Kay Mabie Performance Studio and let down their red hair for a rock session. They began with their song “Birthday”.


From the music to swag to their logo to red, white and blue, there’s an overall aesthetic to White Mystery. Alex and Francis tells Eight Forty-Eight more.


Alex talks about quitting her “day job,” and going making White Mystery her full-time gig, and tells us how she is handling it. But it’s more than just her. Alex White explains.


It’s been more than a year since White Mystery’s self-titled, debut album was released. Alex and Francis talk about what they’ve learned since then, and what went into putting out their new release, Blood & Venom.
