The Chicago White Sox have acquired two-time all-star and former Cy-Young Award winner Jake Peavy from the San Diego Padres.

The right handed pitcher shot down a trade to the Sox earlier in the season.

Chicago is sending four players to the Padres in exchange for Peavy. The deal was finalized just moments before Major League Baseball’s trade deadline.

Peavy is currently injured, but is slated to return sometime in late-August.
