Yesterday governors from around the Midwest came together in Chicago to talk trains. The governors of eight states agreed to work together to bring high-speed train service to their areas. Despite the unified political will, it won’t be easy to create a world-class high-speed train network. Joseph Schofer, a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Northwestern University, tells us why.
