Who could resist the novel The Order of Odd-Fish by Chicago writer James Kennedy after a raving review from 17-year-old Hailey McLaughlin. After reading the book, Hailey got in touch with Kennedy and created a triptych based on the main character of a prequel that hasn’t been written yet! In fact, Kennedy’s young adult novel has inspired all sorts of creative pursuits from grown-ups as well as kids. So he’s gotten together with a local theatre group to create a multimedia extravaganza and art show that’s taking place this weekend. Kennedy says The Order of Odd-Fish is an antidote to the typical fantasy novel.
