We hear from the judge, who tells the four defendants that the draft laws are not their responsibility—nor is the legality of the country’s involvement in any war. At the same time, we flash back to a letter the four activists wrote the day of their action in which they proclaim that their civil disobedience is something that is not done out of anger or hate but because they deem human life sacred. Then, the judge and the jury deliver their verdict…

Years later, the four activists say they have drifted apart. Each agrees, though, that they did something brave together and that keeps them in each other’s hearts.
