Hello Beautiful!

Act One: The Art of...Fluorescent Lights?

What makes Dan Flavin's fluorescent light tubes more artistically “enlightening” than industrial office decor? Helyn Goldenberg worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art in 1967 when Flavin installed a career-launching exhibit at the still-young museum. She describes the magic of the original exhibition and explores the artist's mastery of what, under the hands of anyone else, would simply be fluorescent light bulbs.
