Along the Divide

Look through the lens of photographer Jay Wolke, and you’ll see the Dan Ryan expressway made beautiful. In his book Along the Divide (Columbia College Chicago, 2004), he chronicles life and death along the highway that slices through Chicago’s south side, forming what Wolke calls the city’s “arterial organism.”
