This segment begins in the present. Each of the four activists talk about their memories of each other. Flashing back to the trial in 1971, Mary Beth Lubbers questions an FBI agent about the federal government’s responsibility to look into misuse of power by any branch of the government. Johnny Baranski cross-examines a Selective Service employee, hoping she’ll admit that no matter how much frustration the incident caused, her employer sends people to fight for war and be killed—and that no amount of debating about paperwork can change that fact.
