As this program enters its final weeks, the staff at Hello Beautiful has decided to bring you a retrospective of some favorite conversations. Today we share Kelly Kleiman’s walk through the Chicago History Museum’s current collection of paintings with curators John Corbett and Jim Dempsey.

The exhibition is called Big Picture: A New View of Painting in Chicago, and it showcases works with a variety of styles that span Chicago’s artistic history. Corbett and Dempsey sought to highlight Chicago as a hub for cultural influence, with a distinct and unique spirit. You can see the exhibition through August 3rd at the Chicago History Museum.
