As an actor, Kevin McIlvaine has appeared in television, film and on the stage. He is well known for performing as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in such plays as The Meeting and Dream in King. His voice holds a striking similarity to the King’s own voice, and he has traveled the world portraying him, yet that is just one of his roles. He is a multi-talented entertainer. He is a singer, a model, a director, a historian, and also an ordained minister.

Currently, he’s playing the lead role in the Black Ensemble Theater’s production, I Am Who I Am. The show chronicles the life of Teddy Pendergrass who was considered to be soul music’s number one sex symbol of the ’70s. After a tragic car accident the Grammy-award winning singer was left a quadriplegic. Kevin joins host Richard Steele to discuss his experience with his current play, his previous roles and what defines his life purpose.
