A 14-year-old boy in north Texas is making international headlines. His name is Ahmed Mohamed. He’s a robotics fan. And he says he created a homemade clock – circuit boards and wires in a pencil case – to impress his new teachers at high school.

He brought it to school and ended up under arrest, suspected of making a bomb. His story has inspired the hashtag #IStandWithAhmed and efforts to invite him to NASA and Google. Eric Aasen of KERA joins Here & Now’s Peter O’Dowd with details.
