Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be attending tonight’s State of the Union address as a special guest of the White House. He will also be the only tech industry figure present. Microsoft has been a longtime advocate for technology education, one of the topics the president plans to highlight in an effort to open doors to more high-paying tech jobs.
But since his inauguration, Obama’s record with technology and the industry has been mixed, most notably with the Edward Snowden revelations and Healthcare.gov.
