What’s been a turbulent week on the stock market ended with a positive jobs report.

The Labor Department reported today that the economy added 292,000 jobs in December, better than many expectations.

The unemployment rate held steady at 5 percent, but average hourly wages were flat.

This comes weeks after the Federal Reserve decided to raise its benchmark interest rates for the first time in nearly a decade.
