#IStandWithAhmed resonates from White House to Silicon Valley

Everyone from President Barack Obama to Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has reached out in support to the 14-year-old Muslim boy Ahmed Mohamed who was handcuffed and escorted from his Irving, Texas, school after he brought a clock that he had made at home.

The event has spread across social media via the hashtag #IStandWithAhmed. We look at some of the reaction to the story with Slate’s editor-in-chief Julia Turner.
