The new novel “13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl” confronts a deeply familiar issue to many people: body image.

It tells the story of Lizzie, a young woman obsessed by how she looks and how much she weighs. Awad writes each chapter with deep insight and gutsy humor.

Here & Now’s Meghna Chakrabarti talked with author Mona Awad about the book, and about her own struggle with body image.
