President Obama's Call For A 'Moonshot' To End Cancer

President Obama announced he is putting Vice President Joe Biden in charge of a new national initiative – a “moonshot” – to find a cure for cancer. The effort will be a public-private partnership.

Dr. Ronald DePinho tells Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson that it’s “terrific” that the White House is making this a national priority. DePinho is president of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the world’s leading cancer facilities, which is leading its own moonshot program.
