Guess who probably won't be seeing Richard Buckner at Schubas tonight
Chicago’s top executive may call himself “the music mayor,” but it’s easy to talk about supporting the city’s artistic communities when you don’t actually do much, other than getting into events for free.
(I never have actually spotted Rahm Emanuel at a concert, but I did see him and family members front and center on opening night of The Book of Mormon.)
It’s refreshing to know that at least one artist isn’t wooed by political celebrity.
Then again, the wonderfully soulful and rootsy singer-songwriter Richard Buckner, who performs at Schubas tonight, doesn’t live in Chicago, so he really doesn’t have to worry who he offends.
