Author, social critic and professor George Saunders has won nearly a dozen major awards for his articles, novellas, short stories and essays. On Tuesday, Saunders is being honored in a unique way by DePaul University. The man who grew up in Chicago’s south suburbs is the subject of a marathon reading of his work. Special guests will take turns reading Saunders’ words for 23 hours. In the 24th hour, the author himself will appear to give a lecture. In preparation for the event, we revisit a Morning Shift conversation with George Saunders from January 2013. (Flickr/jrmyst)
