A Breakdown Of Illinois Laws That Just Went Into Effect

The new year brought with it a whole host of new laws. More than 250 laws went into effect in Illinois on Jan. 1, covering everything from waiting periods for gun purchases to allowing bright pink vests for hunters and excusing nursing mothers from jury duty.

NPR Illinois reporter Sam Dunklau joins the Morning Shift to break down a few of the laws that might affect Chicago residents.
