CMAP put out a report last week that looked at advanced manufacturing and what needs to be done here in Chicago to encourage the industry. But there are big concerns with getting advanced manufacturing off the ground here, not the least of which is the amount of money companies are investing in R&D. One of the report’s recommendations was that the national labs and universities here, which produce and house some of the best scientists in the world, work better with private industry. We’ll speak with Argonne National Lab Director Eric Isaacs and Dave Dimirgian, CEO of advanced manufacturing firm ZuChem.
