African-American economic mobility

White families are four times more likely than African Americans to inherit wealth. African Americans are also underrepresented in top positions in Corporate America. Entrepreneurship can help when the doors to corporations and family estates are shut. Chicago has historically been a mecca for black-owned businesses that help people fulfill the American Dream. And while black businesses have fallen on hard times during this recession, there are some success stories. For Front and Center’s series on economic mobility, Natalie Moore has one story.
