The Center for Neighborhood Technology estimates that more than 400,000 people live in transit deserts in Chicago. These are areas where transportation needs exceed available options, making it difficult for residents to get to jobs, school and daily needs. The Center has outlined these areas and launched the Transit Future Campaign to ensure funding to grow the reach of public transit. We talk to Jacky Grimshaw, Vice President of Policy at Center for Neighborhood Technology, about the campaign and potential ways to fill the gaps.
