As more information comes out on the Germanwings plane that crashed into the Alps last week, many pundits have rushed to blame the co-pilot’s history with depression. That rush to judgment and the surrounding media hype not only stigmatizes people battling depression, it may also push them further away from the help they need. Dr. Chris Lowden, psychiatrist at North Shore University Health System, joins us to talk about the stigma surrounding depression, how to identify it and how and when you should get help for yourself or someone you love.
