7th Ward Alderman Sandi Jackson resigned from City Council Friday after a rocky few months in her personal and political life. Her husband, former Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., has been battling health problems and is facing federal charges for possible misuse of campaign contributions. Mrs. Jackson’s critics claims she spends too much time in Washington, and misses too many council meetings, including the budget vote last fall. Chairman of the City Council Black Caucus, Alderman Howard Brookins of the 21st Ward tells us what he’s heard from Sandi Jackson and what the resignation means for the council.
