Nature, and our relationship to it, is a common theme in literature. There are stories of how important the land and animals are to the ecosystem, but what about when humans threaten the future health of our world? Environmental scientist Liam Heneghan has turned to the classic children’s canon to tap into lessons of nature’s importance, and how climate change and other dangers could shift our ecological future. Heneghan explains how to get young readers tapped into this message, while not scaring them about the harsh realities that face Mother Earth.
