Brazilian artist Marcelo Frota goes by Momo-the fictional king of the Brazilian Carnival. But if you dig deeper, the name Momo derives from the Greek word Momus: the God of poets and writers but also the personification of satire. Frota’s lyrics are imbued by a touch of satire, but the stories are often veiled by the samba inspired psychedelic soundscapes. Momo’s currently living in Chicago and performing at The Whistler. He stops by Morning Shift to play some tunes.+ Thumbnail for Momo w/ special guest Janet Bean, Renato Anesi | Whistler Chicago
