From the state’s debt to the pension crisis, one of the biggest issues facing Illinois (and the candidates running for governor) is finances. Where do the gubernatorial candidates stand on the major state finance questions that matter to you?

To find out, WBEZ reporters Dave McKinney and Tony Arnold sent a questionnaire to all four candidates vying for the governor’s seat. The questions largely focused on city and state finances and taxes, to better understand which side the candidates fell on issues like a graduated income tax, property taxes, and even expanding casino gambling in the state. Morning Shift breaks down what they found out.
