Case at nursing home raises questions about elder care

A bankruptcy trial in Florida has been dogging Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner on the campaign trail. His longtime investment firm launched a nursing home chain that's at the center of wrongful death allegations. Prosecutors say Rauner’s firm participated in fraud to avoid liability in those deaths, but Rauner is not named as a defendant. Will the trial continue to follow the candidate? Chicago Tribune’s David Heinzmann is covering the trial and he brings us the latest. And, politics aside, the issue of elder care and keeping older adults safe when they’re under assisted care is important issues families face. Elder care advocate Signe Gleeson outlines the most important questions to ask when placing your loved ones in a new living situation. Photo: Flickr/Pictures by Ann
