The Boston Marathon will be extra significant for runners on Monday, a year after the bombings near the finish line. The race traditionally serves as a moment of great accomplishment for both elite runners and the less experienced lot who train so hard to qualify. Naperville resident Brandon Gittelman hadn’t planned on running Boston again, but after the attacks he wanted to show that these acts shouldn’t prevent participation. We talk with Gittelman before he heads east for his second Boston Marathon.
