Chicago singer Krystal Metcalfe likes Queen, Destiny’s Child and cooking shows.

Metcalfe, who dips between genres and lands in a space uniquely her own, will release a video for her new single “Fearless” on April 17.

But first, Metcalfe answered five questions about music and TV.

What’s in your Netflix queue?

Krystal Metcalfe: What were we watching last night? The Adam Sandler movie — it’s called Bedtime Stories. And then, there’s this British cooking show the The Big Family Cooking Showdown. It’s a competition where families of three all cook every round and then they eliminate a family to get the winner. I like that little show.

What song do you listen to when you need motivation?

Metcalfe: Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”

How did your parents’ record collection affect you?

Metcalfe: It was my foundation. When I was growing up, all we could listen to was gospel, classical and theater, so that pretty much set me up to be the dramatic queen that I am.

What’s your favorite TV theme song?

Metcalfe: The Proud Family because I love Destiny’s Child and I loved when they did that. I watched the video of them making it. And it was just like — I just loved that.

What was the last song you listened to on your way over here?

Metcalfe: Kirk Franklin’s “Melodies From Heaven”
