Chicago Tool Library Will Be The First Of Its Kind In The City

There are more than 200 public tool libraries around the world, where people can borrow new and used tools from their community. Most major cities in the U.S. have such a library, but Chicago is not one of them.

Jim Benton and Tessa Vierk want to change that by bringing the first public tool library to the city. They’ve secured a space for the Chicago Tool Library in the Bridgeport neighborhood and plan to open its doors by July, if they meet their $25,000 fundraising goal.

Jim and Tessa join Morning Shift to talk about how they plan on bringing the Chicago Tool Library to life.
