There are more than 200 public tool libraries around the world, where people can borrow new and used tools from their community. Most major cities in the U.S. have such a library, but Chicago is not one of them.

Jim Benton and Tessa Vierk want to change that by bringing the first public tool library to the city. They’ve secured a space for the Chicago Tool Library in the Bridgeport neighborhood and plan to open its doors by July, if they meet their $25,000 fundraising goal.
