Chicagoans Join Global Youth Climate Strike

Today, millions of people from around the world will take to the streets to demand action on climate change in what’s expected to be the largest environmental protest in history. Here in Chicago, hundreds are expected to gather at Grant Park to push for the Clean Energy Jobs Act to be passed in Illinois and other environmental justice issues.

Morning Shift checks in with youth climate activists from the Chicago area taking part in today’s worldwide climate strike.

GUESTS: Adelina Avalos, director of outreach for the Illinois Youth Climate Strike

Anya Sastry, national outreach director for the U.S. Youth Climate Strike
