A few years ago, when first lady Michele Obama invited the nation’s top chefs to the White House to enlist them in the fight against childhood obesity, it lit a flame in Chicago. Some of the city’s top chefs, including Paul Kahan, and Jason Hammel recruited chef peers to work with Disney II Magnet School where they now assist in lessons on food as it relates to literacy, math, social studies and science.
