Aldermen voted Wednesday to strip Faisal Khan of the ability to look deeper into aldermen’s campaign finances, passing that power over to the City Council Board of Ethics. The votes were as you’d expect if you follow Council actions, with members of the Progressive Caucus voting to keep that power with the Inspector General and the rest of the Council taking that power from the watchdog.
