City Council pushed public health department on mental health services
Chicago’s City Council grilled the Dept. of Public Health Commissioner Tuesday about the city’s response to Ebola. Bechara Choucair assured the Council that while no cases have been confirmed in Chicago, the department is taking the virus seriously and is prepared. But the budget hearing wasn't all Ebola. Dr. Choucair also announced new plans to address mental health services in the city. WBEZ’s Shannon Heffernan was at the hearing, and she explains what the Commissioner plans to roll out.
